an organization is going to need in terms of the

and quality of workforce to achieve its objectives.
It determines what mix of experience, knowledge,
and skills is required and sequences steps to get the right
number of right people in the right place at the right time.
Steps
in workforce planning:
- Identify the business strategy: workforce planning is the basis of the strategic staffing and derived from the firm’s Business Strategy, this Strategy determine the future need for employees and budget allocated for employment
“There are 3 main strategies which we can derive our workforce planning philosophy from; cost leadership, differentiation and specialization”
- Recognize the differences and the gaps between workforce demand and workforce supply by forecast both demand and supply.
- Developing an action Plan to fill the gaps between workforce demands and Workforce supply and Implementing this plan according to the needs, the talent philosophy and hiring main purpose of the organization.
